The story of APM

A strategic evolution at the crossroads of agriculture and industry

The story of Automotive Performance Materials (APM) begins with AFT Plasturgie, a recognised player in plastics and technical materials. In 2015, a major turning point occurred when AFT Plasturgie was acquired by two strategic partners: Forvia (formerly Faurecia), the world leader in automotive equipment, and Interval, a large agricultural cooperative.
This acquisition not only strengthened AFT Plasturgie’s industrial capabilities but also transformed its positioning by creating a unique alliance between agricultural know-how and industrial expertise. Thus was born APM, a visionary company dedicated to producing innovative, sustainable materials based on natural fibres, primarily hemp.

An acquisition that turns vision into reality

The 2015 joint venture marked a true strategic milestone. Through this unprecedented partnership, Forvia contributes its industrial expertise and in-depth knowledge of the automotive market, while Interval ensures a sustainable supply of natural fibres, notably hemp. This unique combination of strengths has enabled APM to position itself as a key player in the production of sustainable composites for the automotive sector.
This model is built on comprehensive control of the hemp value chain. From seed to finished part, APM oversees every stage to guarantee optimal quality, secure supply and a reduced ecological footprint.

An international reach

Since its acquisition and transformation in 2015, APM has established itself in European, North American and Asian markets. This international presence testifies to the trust placed in the company’s sustainable, high-performance solutions.

Strengthened industrial expertise

It is not only technical capabilities that set APM apart. The company embodies an approach centred on excellence in both quality and process management. Every material it develops is designed to combine industrial performance with environmental respect.

A sustainable and responsible commitment

A reinforced industrial footprint

With facilities located in Fontaine-Lès-Dijon, France, APM relies on robust infrastructure and years of experience to meet the automotive sector’s demands. Today, the company operates three fully operational production lines capable of mass-producing innovative materials such as NAFILean, widely used in the industry.

A vision for the future

Since 2015, APM has asserted itself as an essential player in natural-fibre composite materials. This journey rests on a strategic alliance between agriculture and industry, demonstrating that technological innovation and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand.

Today, APM continues to shape the future of materials by offering sustainable, high-performance solutions tailored to the challenges of an ever-evolving world.
